Andy Kostas
Sculptor & Engineering Designer
Andy Kostas is a Miami-based artist and engineering designer with over 25 years of experience working in entertainment and public art. His interdisciplinary practice merges structural innovation with sculptural storytelling. Andy gained recognition for his work on iconic outdoor installations, including the well-known Moon Men series, where monumental astronaut figures bridge pop-cultural imagery and celestial themes. He has engineered large-scale sculptures like The Boonji Spaceman—a 1.5-ton, carbon-fiber “dancing spaceman” reinforced with a custom steel skeleton to endure outdoor environments —demonstrating his expertise in merging art with technical resilience. Passionate about solar energy and sustainability, Andy integrates energy-conscious design principles into his projects, envisioning sculptures that not only captivate but also inspire societal reflection on our technological future.
